Fitting Tribute Funeral Services

Fitting Tribute was the perfect company to help arrange my father’s funeral. Amy was completely tasteful and helpful from beginning to end. She had an initial 40-minute phone conversation with me when we first put my father on hospice. She laid out what I could expect, what would happen, the choices I’d have to make, and what her role would be. And then, she followed through with everything on time and in a professional and courteous manner. We had some specific requests for my father: organ donation for research, no embalming, open casket indoor service. She made it all work. On the day of the funeral the funeral home was beautifully set up with all the personal effects we’d selected (books my father had written, framed photos) and the wonderful flower arrangement she’d ordered. Everything was ready on time, so when I brought my mother and my family for the initial viewing, we were able to go right in and see my dad. My dad looked wonderful without embalming. Amy also set up a streaming link and personally live-streamed the whole event from her ipad—we had friends around the country that were able to view the service. I am so grateful to Amy and her team at Fitting Tribute for the wonderful send-off she helped me craft for my beloved father Norman. Thank you.

I am not the type of person to leave online reviews but I’m doing this in the hope that if you, dear reader, come across this in your time of need, you know that you should pick up your phone and call Amy. I lost my mom unexpectedly to a heart attack. I was devastated and didn’t know where to start. Amy’s empathy and grace saved me and my family and helped us through such an incredibly difficult time. She listened to us, guided us and comforted us through our pain and grief. And ultimately my mom’s send-off was even more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. She is an incredible person and I am so thankful I was able to cross paths with her in my time of need.

My mom chose Fitting Tribute for her own funeral because of a writeup we read in Tricycle, and then another in The New York Times. My mom was interested in an eco-friendly burial, and that is one of the wonderful services that Amy provides.

My mom had met with other funeral directors and was unhappy with even the initial consultation. We met with Amy to pre-plan my mom’s funeral and she did not disappoint. She was very responsive to my mom’s (perhaps) unconventional ideas and offered us interesting ideas of her own to consider.

Unfortunately, we had occasion to use Amy’s services rather sooner than later. Also unfortunately, in these times of Covid-19, some of my mom’s wishes were unable to be followed. Amy came again to the rescue! She brought ideas to the table for us to consider that would appropriately honor my mom’s spirit and also the essence of her wishes, if not the letter of them.

Besides all that, Amy is warm, responsive, kind, compassionate, and generous with her time and her ideas. I just received a lovely card from her that made me cry.

Amy Cunningham has been a blessing in my family’s life. We called on her during a very difficult death, and I don’t know how we could have done it without her. She was with us just an hour after my brother-in-law passed at home, and she helped all of us who were there with him process the moment of his passing. She also led our funeral, and brought such a kind personal voice to such a difficult day. Her compassion, her sensitivity, and most of all her calm allowed us to experience the death of my brother-in-law as an opportunity to celebrate him, rather than an emergency. I will forever be grateful to know her, and I couldn’t recommend her more wholeheartedly.
