About End of Life Doula Heather Spratt
At One Step Beyond End of Life Services, our mission is to improve the end of life process, often a challenging and baffling time for the dying and their loved ones. We bring a sense of agency to the dying, helping them complete their lives on their own terms and allowing them to leave behind their very best legacy.
Think of us as project managers for the end of life process. We offer a full range of supports, including Advance Care Planning, home and in-patient hospice support, caregiver respite, legacy projects, and vigiling. We also work with clients to arrange medical assistance in dying (MAID) ceremonies.
Founder and principal Heather Spratt has been a hospice volunteer since 2017, and received her End of Life Doula training through Douglas College. She serves on the Board of the End of Life Doula Association of Canada and is a member of the National End of Life Doula Alliance.
