Vanella’s Funeral Chapel, Inc. was founded in 1918 by Vincent Vanella Sr. We are a family owned and operated establishment. Our first location opened in New York at 29 Madison St. on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. We later opened our second location in Oceanside NY in 1965 by Vincent’s two sons, Vincent J. Vanella Jr. and Joseph J. Vanella. Currently, Joseph V. Vanella is at our Manhattan location while Vincent J. Vanella III and Joseph M. Vanella are at our Oceanside location. At Vanella’s’ Funeral Chapel we convey a level of compassion and unparalleled service to every Family. This level of dedication has been passed on through three generations.

Since this is a family owned and operated funeral home our main concern is each family. We pride ourselves on our caring and well-informed staff as well as our attention to detail. From the minute a family walks in to make arrangements to the time of internment, our goal is to make you feel like part of our family. We strive to build a relationship with you and not just fill your immediate need. For us this is more than a business relationship, it’s helping a friend through a hard time. Both of our locations offer spacious chapels, as well as a large choice in caskets and urns. Easels and tables are available for personal memorials during visitation. There is a member of the Vanella family to answer your call 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We offer pre-need counseling and services, as well as medicaid irrevocable pre-arrangements. For at need funerals, we offer both traditional burials and cremations.
